Why Suspension Should Probably Be Your First Upgrade — Not Your Motor
You feel a suspension upgrade on every single ride. You feel a motor upgrade until the novelty wears off.

Stock suspension is the weakest link on almost every e-moto, and it's the upgrade riders put off the longest because it isn't as exciting as more power. That's backwards.
Here's the thing: power is only useful if you can put it down and stay in control — and that's suspension, geometry, and tires, not watts. A bike that tracks the ground, doesn't dive under braking, and doesn't bottom out on every g-out is a bike you ride faster, longer, and more confidently. Upgraded forks and a real rear shock will:
- Soak up chop and roots so you're not getting beaten up (less fatigue = longer, better rides).
- Keep the tire in contact with the ground = more traction = more usable power and grip.
- Build cornering confidence, which makes you genuinely quicker more than another 10kW ever will.
Compare that to the alternatives: a battery adds range but doesn't change how the bike handles. A motor or controller adds power that an unsorted chassis can't fully use — and can even make the bike more intimidating.
Where to start
The aftermarket is deep here — FastAce and RFLOXA for value, EXT, Sirris, and Tech by Formula at the premium end. Start with the fork and rear shock together if you can; they work as a system. If you only change one thing this season, change how the bike rides — not how fast it tops out.
